Debrief: Two doors
February 2026. Two doors.
Door one: the safe path. Work for someone else for two years and hope things fall my way.
Door two: go all-in on a company that barely existed yet.
On paper, door one wins. Steady pay. A clear timeline. A story that makes sense at dinner tables.
But I’d wanted my own business since I was a kid. And when I looked at both doors honestly, the safe one was the bigger gamble. It staked everything on hope and nothing on my own hands.
A job ends and leaves nothing behind. A company, even one that fails, leaves you with what you built.
I took door two. All-in.
